History of Victoria Palace Theatre

Post by patc »

A fascinating new series "Great West End Theatres" started on Sky Arts 2 HD last week. The VPT is included but is not among the first 10 in the series to be broadcast. The first one was the Ambassador's and Sir Stephen Waley-Cohen, (also Director of VPT) was among those interviewed. Next episode is about the Wyndhams and will be shown Wed. 14th at 10am.

There will also be a DVD issued for each theatre per Amazon.

Quote:
The production team is currently filming the rest of the theatres to the highest technical standard and to broadcast quality, for early release to the international television documentary market. The Buildings, the History, the Stars and the Architectural interest, all available with unique and unrestricted access, will come together to become the definitive guide to the forty Great West End Theatres. These highly collectible individual DVD's (which amalgamate to create an enduring box set) will be available for sale in all the London theatres and at Dress Circle, Covent Garden - the leading showbiz shop. Produced by Jo Gilbert for Real Holywood Productions, Directed & Produced by Marc Sinden and Executive Producer Sally Burton.
