For those able to view BBC, right now on BBC2 there is an Easter broadcast from King's College, Cambridge. Think 'Nine Lessons and Carols for Easter'. Kings College Choir is the gold standard of 'favourite treble choirs'. I am certain it will be available on BBC IPLayer.

For those who live abroad, I can tell you how to access this if you PM me.

I have sung in many UK and US churches, chapels and cathedrals; without question Kings has the best acoustics.

A new blog entry about Libera's recent spring tour in New York/New Jersey has been added to the official Libera website. Written by one of the boys, it offers a 'behind-the-scenes narrative of the trip from their perspective. Interesting reading..

For the Libera fans here on the Forum, today it was announced that a live concert will be filmed by PBS here in the US. It will take place the evening of August 7, 2014 at Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington DC. As part of the announcement, though no specific dates were listed, it was inferred that Libera will be making other appearances in the US this summer as well.

Free tickets?

I wonder who is financing this - certainly not PBS. Warner Classics, who produce the CDs and DVDs?

Here's an update on Libera's upcoming appearance on a special 'Songs of Praise' programme for transmission on Sunday 3rd August at 4 25pm on BBC2. Some of the filming took place in Belgium and there is a link in this story to pictures of their visit there.

As was previously posted in this thread, Libera appeared over the weekend in a segment of BBC2's Songs of Praise program to commemorate that network's remembrance of the start of WWI. Here's the video, including three songs and interviews with some of the choir members:

It should be pointed out that Robert Prizeman, director of Libera, has has a long association with the BBC and especially Songs of Praise. The opening theme, known to many in the UK, was written by him.

Here it is, as an organ Toccata:

Thanks for sharing this great video. Very moving and well done. The ancestors of the boys who are spotlighted in this video have left a wonderful legacy in these talented and well-spoken young men.
