Stephen Daldry has Sold the Billy House!!!!!!!

Well, not the one in London, but his 7 bedroom Manhattan townhouse he called 'Billy House' when he bought it in 2009. He sold it for cool $11 million - that's a lot of Co-op pasties!

I wonder if he has put his name down for one of the properties which will be part of the new complex being built in Victoria Street/ Allington Street.

Exec summary... Daldry has put his name on the line, become chairman of a trust trying to do something for the refugees suffering at the hands of the European governments' failure to deal humanely with a genuinely difficult problem. YOU can HELP this venture that Daldry finds worthy if you start at http://goodchance.org.uk/ and follow the follow "donate" link.

Daldry also proves here that he has a gift for creating emotionally resonant setpieces, most notably when a group of carol singers carrying lanterns descends on Sandringham and is ushered into the drawing room, where a tearful George VI, realising that he will soon die of cancer, joins them in a rendition of In the Bleak Midwinter. It’s mawkish perhaps, but also incredibly powerful, propelled by Harris’s committed performance.
It looks as though Stephen Daldry has another hit!
