With Oliver! closing, a new set of 6 Gustaves would be good..... maybe:

Gwion Wyn Jones as Gustave
Harry Child as Gustave
Laurence Jeffecoate as Gustave
Harry Stott as Gustave
Arthur Byrne as Gustave

;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)
I think they are all a bit too old for the part now, I know some of the above have auditioned for the part in the past and Harry has already had a 6 month run :)

Did Laurence audition? Assume he was already too old, shame because he had a gorgeous voice, as did Alex :)

No, I don't think he did, it was one of the smaller ones...

I have been reliably informed that one of the Nippers from 'Oliver' is going to be a Gustave!

Yes, I heard that, though I think one is Gustave and another is Gavroche, as an ex-Nipper (Will) is doing his last Gavroche tonight....

It has already been announced on the official site about the new Gustave:

Jack was drafted in as one of the Gustaves had to leave earlier than expected....

Went to see the new revamped LND last night under the Get Into London Theatre offer. Had good central row O seats in the stalls which gave a good view of the projections and sets. Daniel Dowling was Gustave, Tam Mutu the Phantom and Louise Madison was Fleck. There are many changes to the original especially in the first half with a lot of the scenes in a different order, others re-worked with added lyrics and themes, and more music additions from the original show.

I won't say what the changes are as I don't want to spoil it for others. To me some are better as they improve the sense and flow of the show, whilst others were perhaps unecessary. At least all the big numbers are still there!

I still very much enjoyed it and already have two more shows booked including March 5th where most of the main cast are leaving.

Andrew LLoyd Webber is in Melbourne to announce the leads in the OZ production to commence at the Regent Melbourne may 11,

The comments of a juvenile lead in this thread stirs my interest. Last week I saw the revival of The Boy From Oz as two OZ Billys played young Peter Allen in that show, prior to BETM.

Please let me have some more info on the Gustave role.

Gustave is the ten year old son of Christine Daae and has quite a big role in the show, mainly singing, but any boy who plays the part must also be able to act well, as Gustave has to show a wide range of emotions.
