Here's fun video. The cast of NEWSIES North American Tour performs a tap rendition of Walk The Moon's hit song "Shut Up and Dance". Ben shows us some of his awesome tapping skills.

"Newsies" is currently playing in LA. The cast recently paid a visit to Disney Studios and performed a few numbers there. Glenn Cook has posted some excellent photos on his Facebook.

This is too cool! The cast of NEWSIES on Tour made a surprise appearance at an LA movie theater full of fans who were watching the 1992 movie, and treated them to a live version of "King of New York". :D

That is fantastic - how the cast of NEWSIES go out of their way to acknowledge its fans!

The Newsies tour is currently in Boston, where it received this excellent review. Way to go Ben!

A cast standout is Benjamin Cook as Race. Cook separates himself from the rest with a signature high-pitched and spunky voice, and he continues to define his character with a cigar always in-hand, or rather mouth, and absolutely impeccable dancing. He makes his turn at the end of ‘Seize the Day’ look like child’s play, smirking at the end as if the audience doesn’t know the difficulty level of what appears to be a walk in the park for a dancer like Cook. But his real spotlight moment lasts probably less than a second, towards the end of the tap number in ‘King of New York,’ he flaps his foot so fast it might as well be a cartoon onstage instead of a human.

I love this sentence from the review:
The flashy dance numbers and Disney songs make for a great piece of entertainment, but the finesse of the dancing and powerful story of brotherhood is what makes this show not just a piece of entertainment – but a piece of art.

Just saw Newsies in Boston this afternoon. I thought the show was better than New York. Ben was fantastic. What a joy to see him perform again. He deserves all the accolades

I was there, at the Boston Opera House, today as well. Newsies is a triumph! Ben was amazing (hard to believe that I saw him as Billy Elliot there nearly three years ago) - to watch him pirouette on a sheet of newpapers is a sight to behold.

Great cast, great show. Catch it if it comes to your local theatre.

It's coming to Richmond in November. Individual tickets are not on sale yet, but I plan to buy one when they become available.
