Re: BETM Cleveland, OH

Here's a TV news report that was done last week when Michael Dameski appeared and performed at the Playhouse Square announcement of their Broadway series, which of course includes Billy Elliot the Musical (November 18-December 12, 2010).

The video is on the Channel 19 News site and is not the best as the BETM segment is brief, contains an advertisement up front and then the Billy Elliot piece is just part of the footage from all the shows that will be part of their Broadway season. None-the-less, I think Forum members will enjoy seeing Michael (Mr. Ambassador for BETM  ). He does a great job dancing and taking part in an interview.

Thanks, porschesrule. It looks like the company is definitely getting some mileage out of Michael while he is here. 8-)

It sounds like one of the Billys will be there, based on this excerpt from the website:

"At Breakfast with Billy, you'll enjoy a breakfast buffet and special morning with Billy Elliot which includes having your picture taken with Billy."

It wasn't easy getting tickets to "Breakfast With Billy" on Saturday, Nov. 20. The above link hasn't worked for awhile, and even the Cleveland Playhouse's own website won't bring it up. When I called the general ticket phone number, they were perplexed, and directed me to call the box office on-site. I did that, and the person I talked to and then her supervisor had to do some investigating - they had it on their schedule, but had no information at all about it. Anyway...I have my ticket now in my hands, but I wanted to let others know who were interested to call the on-site box office (216-771-8403) if you want tickets.

By the way, heard my first BE Cleveland radio commercial yesterday morning. Can't wait for the full publicity blitz!
28 shows, 17 Billys, 11 cities

On a more positive note for Cleveland...

The Billy Elliot Broadway and National Tour Facebook site posted this this morning:

"It is Billy Elliot week in Cleveland! On Thursday ALL FIVE Billys will appear on the FOX 8 Robin Swoboda Show. They'll choose the winner to "Key to your Dreams", talk about their personal dreams and play games with the in-studio audience."

Still more promotional news for the 2nd Tour stop in Cleveland, from the Billy Elliot Broadway and National Tour Facebook page:

"More fun from Cleveland! Saturday evening, Billy's Giuseppe Bausilio and Daniel Russell along with Resident Choreographer Seth Sklar-Heyn will host PBS station WVIZ's pledge drive in conjunction with the airing of the Billy Elliot Special."
