Obviously, things have been in flux since it was announced that the San Francisco run would end earlier than planned, but let's just try to avoid a lot of speculation for the time being until we get some official word on the BETM website, Broadway World, Playbill, etc. about exactly what is going on.

Amanda Delgadillo (No indication of her affiliation with the show) posted on the BETM facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/BillyElliot: I CAN'T BELIEVE THE TOUR IS CLOSING. I CAN'T STOP CRYING RIGHT NOW

Both Max Baud (Older Billy) and Nicholas Sipes (ensemble) both posted interesting comments on their twitter feeds:

I do expect that we will be getting some official word soon--probably as soon as tomorrow.

Well, looking at the bright side, if it does close, I will feel much better about going into debt over it during the Portland run. Sorry, just had to joke a little. I know it's not really funny.

I wonder if perhaps the Toronto production will pick up the itinerary left behind by the tour.

Sad, if true, but I am glad that Daniel Russell has had a great second run in the role, after the Australian tour closed. This economy is tiresome.

It's possible but a month ago we were told that show was closing as well:

1st Tour Closing

I expect the Toronto run will continue until September 3 as planned. It would be lovely if they would decide to extend it where it is, but I am confident that it would not take the place of the current US Tour and start traveling around the country. That would make no sense at all.
