As has been noted elsewhere on the Forum, ticket sales for BETM Broadway have now been extended to July 8, 2012 according to the official BETM Broadway website.

Best news ever! Hopefully this eases the fears some folks had when tickets were only on sale through the end of 2011.

Actually, BETM Broadway's official website in the "tips on buying tickets" section of its tickets page http://www.billyelliotbroadway.com/tickets.php is still showing tickets as only being available through December 31, 2011. It is the show's official ticketing partner, Telecharge, which indicates and offers tickets for sale through July 8, 2012.

This is not the first time that Telecharge had a new block of tickets on sale prior to the BETM site being updated. BETM does tend to be slow in updating its site for all but major role cast changes; eventually they're get the "available through date" corrected. To me, this lack of timeliness in updating the site and in posting new material (blogs, pictures, etc.) is an aspect of BETM's marketing and promotion that misses the mark and falls short. Fortunately, it's also something that can easily (and inexpensively) be rectified.

Despite it now been some weeks since the new block through July 8, 2012 went on sale the "Tips on Buying Tickets" section of the official BETM-Broadway website still continues to show tickets as only being available through December 31, 2011. If they see that ongoing incorrect information on the site, it very likely would discourage potential ticket buyers planning a trip to NYC in the first half of 2012 from even attempting to purchase advance tickets. In this era of the wired (and wireless) information superhighway, maintaining timely and accurate information (as well as ever changing and fresh content) on websites are vital and necessary components of any effective marketing strategy.

I totally agree, Billy Fanatic. However, the BE people don't seem to grasp that concept as updates to the various BE websites has historically been very, very slow.

Porschesrule, they might finally be getting it. When I checked at noontime today, the site had been updated to include Myles and Jack in the cast list and to reflect ticket availability through July 8, 2012. Earlier this month, they were also very timely in adding Daniel Jenkins, Katherine McGrath and William Youmans to the cast list although in that earlier update they had missed correcting the tickets on sale until date.

Aha! They really meant January 8 instead of July 8! Right?
