Students and teachers were moved to tears while watching a performance of Billy Elliot in London’s West End.

They savoured the atmosphere of the capital in a dramatic three-day performing arts visit to London.

Sounds like a great school trip ! They must have some decent money at their disposal to be able to finance two West End shows, the Harry Potter Warner Brothers tour, and trips to Covent Garden and Leicester Square. Quite a bit more pizzazz than the school trip we took our 8th graders on a few years ago - which was to the Kansas City Zoo.

That's also the first story I've ever seen involving the town of Rochdale. Before this, I only knew it from an old 1970's song by 10CC: "From Rochdale to Ocho Rios." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3O_bMIyZIQ

Really guys, Rochdale was the birthplace of the Co-op - I'm sure their teachers would feel that's a better connection between Billy's community and theirs?

The school is located in a small town of 8000, in the hills and country north of Rochdale. It is rated as a Good school by OFSTED and, being part of the fabric of a small town, would probably support a trip such as this for their children.
